Finding Things

Yesterday we were on an adventure on Smith Lake. As my husband prepared his fishing rods, I began to swelter. I asked him to go to the shady bank and let me out. As he mosied on to fish, I wandered along the banks looking at mussels, shells and slate. It had been a while since I just observed - no agenda, no schedule, nothing to accomplish. I found a lot of things - bright green moss, various nuts, lost fishing lures, tons of colorful pieces of rock, multitudes of shells, serenity and peace. I highly recommend losing the "things to get accomplished" list at least for a few hours each weekend. I forgot how much I find when I don't try so hard.
